Antonio Benarrivo (Brindisi, 21 August 1968) is a former Italian footballer who covered the role of defender. One of the best full-backs in the world in the 1990s, Benarrivo was comfortable on both flanks, and was known for his attacking prowess, even though almost never scoring, and was sometimes employed as a makeshift wide midfielder due to his pace and technique.
He started playing in professional football team in his city, the Brindisi, which began in Serie C1 championship in 1986–87. After three seasons between Puglia, went to Padova in Serie B, where he remained two years highlighting nationally.
In 1991, was bought from Parma for Nevio Scala that year before it was revealed the surprise of the championships, winning the UEFA Cup qualification in the first year in Serie A.
He quickly became one of the strengths of the company Emilian, which will be a milestone for more than a decade, winning many statements in national and European level. In his first year in the highest division conquest Italian Cup and the following year, in 1992–93, the Cup Winners' Cup, losing in the finals in 1993–94 and winning that year in the European Supercup.
The strip of thrilling victories, with the UEFA Cup of 1994–95, while Parma in the league continues to be well, although the strips of the first victories of Milan and Juventus will not leave room for an assertion flag, but touched lightly in 1996–97.

Benarrivo has also played in the national team, which was for a period the right-holder. Began on 22 September 1993 against Estonia, took part in the 1994 World Cup,[1] playing until 1997 for a total of 23 appearances.
